Hi. I'm trying to connect to a remote ms sql server 2008 database but it displays "no data available".

how do i know that the module is connected to the database...because i don't know if the problem is at connection to database path or the sql query that i'm writing?

SELECT * FROM sys.tables

please help?

i did this and still the same message "no data available"

Could you provide a link to a page where we can see the problem and temporary access to your J! backend by email so we can investigate the issue?

Thank you, i really appreciate your help...i'm testing it in my local network...so i installed joomla on localhost in my computer...so i can't make you get in my joomla backend...but i will provide some information and see if you can help me this way...

Host ip address where the ms sql server 2008 is installed is 192.168.52.2
instance: profs

database name: pr_soft
username: ***
password: ***

there are tables inside...but i need to get a view table...from sql views with a name for example "v_steps" or just display all the views from this database.

from my pc i can ping this host ip address..so we are in the same network...

Check that MS SQL PHP extension is installed on server with Joomla! and check also that MS SQL server accept remote requests. You can also try to connect to database by ODBC.
