TOPIC: Filtering (out) some rows

Filtering (out) some rows 12 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
I have a CSV file where data is listed and the second column defines in which group the row belongs. So I have 12 rows with "1" in the second column, 12 rows with "2" in the second column and so forth. These rows are not grouped together in the table.

The CSV file is read into the page OK when I want to display all the rows.

However, in some instances of displaying the data, I want to only show those rows where there is a "1" in the second column, or in another case "2" in the same column etc. (there are no " marks in the data)

I hoped the CSV filters (at the bottom of the Basic Option for the module might work for me if I used "2" for the column name, "equals" for the operator and "1" ( or "2" etc) for the value (no " marks used in the settings).

However, using "1" seems to filter things out but only 11 of the 12 entries appear. Using "2" seems to change all the column order and only shows even fewer entries.

I presume I am not understanding the filter properly.

Is there a way to only display rows based on data in certain column(s)? Is the filter the right thing to use and if so, can you suggest how?

Hello,

Could you send your CSV file by email so we can investigate the problem?

It is on it's way to you along with screen shots of the settings for the modules and links to where they are displayed.

CSV filters work fine on our test server with your CSV file. See sample settings below:

I guess then that you need to clean up your nomenclature so that in the Column Settings where you have "ID" (and "Alias"), that this matches the similar setting called "Column Name" in the filter area.

It is possible to use column indexes as well as columns name in "Columns settings -> ID" parameter. Only columns names can be used in "CSV -> Filters -> Column Name" parameter so these parameters have different names.
