If you want to generate field list in "SELECT" query dynamically, it requires to modify the extension.

I just got this yesterday and all is working nice so far, thanks to forum posts on create dynamic query string.

To generate fields list in query dynamically, i am able to use like below, for example.

select {$REQUEST:fields1} from my_master where idcode like '%16%'
AND
idname is not NULL
AND
user1 like '%CLEAR%'
AND
my_datetime LIKE '%{$REQUEST:my_datetime}%' ;

I used a GET name value pair in url from my form submit action to populate the fields1.

Also the edit in class.DataTablesDataSqlModel.php (the quoted request variable was the issue i faced) worked well. It was while searching this problem when i saw this thread and thought I can make this reply.
