I have searched through the forums on this topic but am still having issues.

I am wanting to pull data from an external (still internal) SQL DB. I am able to connect to the DB via access with the Host/User/Password/DB Name settings so I don't believe it's a connection issue.

I have attached a screenshot of my module settings. Hoping to have some clarification.

If you want to connect to "MS SQL" database, check that PHP extension for MS SQL is installed on your web server. If you use PHP v. 5.3.0, connect to MS SQL via ODBC.

Server is running PHP Version 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.9. I changed to ODBC and saw no change.

What connection parameters do you use for ODBC? Do you configured ODBC on your servers? It is necessary to register ODBC source on a server before using it in connection parameters.

My IT guy told me to connect via SQL, but couldn't tell me MS SQL or MS SQL PRO. PRO tends to break it somehow as it doesn't load anything on the page when I select it. The DB is a police department's Calls for Service. I am wanting to display them in real-time. I have limited knowledge of DB systems.

PHP 5.3+ doesn't support MS SQL PHP extension. You can read about it here so if you want to connect to MS SQL server from web server where PHP 5.3+ is installed, do it via ODBC.
