Hi,

I have install joomla 3.1.4 with berais template (joomlart.com) and download and install ARI Data Tables modules and plugins.

I try to connect ARI Data Tables to an external databse. This external database is on another server on Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
But I have an error message who is :

Error
ARI Data Tables: Couldn't connect to external database.

And when I use the joomla debug mode, I have this error :
Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in C:\wamp\www\beranis\modules\mod_aridatatables\includes\kernel\DB\ADODBLite\adodbSQL_drivers\mssql\mssql_driver.inc on line 408

For information on my php settings (on wampserver) I have php_mssql and php_pdo_mssql who are enabled

Hello,

Download and update "ARI Data Tables" module. Updated version should shown more detailed information about error.

PS: You can try to connect via ODBC.

Sorry but I have the latest version : ARI Data Tables v. 1.13.12

For the ODBC connection. How can I do that ?

i KNOW I must select the ODBC on the dropdown menu (on the module options), but after that, there is another things to do ? Can you explain exactly what to do.

Ignore version number. Download and update the module.

ODBC source should be registered on your server. You can contact your hosting support or database administrator so they help to configure it.
