TOPIC: Managing multiple SQL queries for reports

Managing multiple SQL queries for reports 11 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I want to use ARI Data Tables to produce a number of "canned" reports in our Joomla website front end. I have set up a couple of different queries using 2 different ARI DT modules each with different SQL statement.

Is this the best method to use or am I missing a trick? Is there any way to change the SQL that a module uses dynamically?

Hello,

If you want to use the same module settings and use different SQL queries, it can be done with help of "Modules Anywhere" or "Module Plant" plugin (or similar extension which supports module parameters overriding). These plugin can load Joomla! module into a content and supports ability to override some module parameters (in your case it is SQL query).

Thanks for quick reply. I now understand the choices but think I will stick with multiple modules for now.

Hi Glid1965 - quick question, how did you install multiple modules of ARI DT? I am trying to do the same thing you are but I haven't been able to find anything on how to install the module more than once. Thanks!

UPDATE: Nevermind, I just figured it out by duplicating the module in Joomla. Super easy. Thanks again.
