TOPIC: Newby Trying to Setup a Table in an Article

Newby Trying to Setup a Table in an Article 10 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
I purchased Ari Data Tables yesterday and I am getting frustrated over the lack of instruction. I have read through the forums but somehow I am not understanding what to do.

I want the CSV table on page cfgsphase2.cloudaccess.net/index.php/publications/orange-co-marriages. Within the article I added {aridatatables moduleId="<Marriage Vol 1>"} in that location. (The table should appear under the words Marriage Table. My CSV file is located in /httpdocs/files/tables/orange_co_marriages_vol1.csv.

I tried to get a scrolling capture of the module screen but am having problems with it.
Can you provide more documentation or guidance.

Thanks
Walter

Hello,

If you want to load the module into an article with help of "Content - ARI Data Tables" plugin, enter ID in "moduleId" parameter. For example if your want to load "ARI Data Tables" module instance with ID = 74, use the following plugin code:

{aridatatables moduleId="74"}

Check also that the module is enabled.

Thanks, I got the table displaying with your instructions. (Note that I only showed 15 of 5100 records.)

The purpose of the table is for users to look up their ancestors in the table using their own search or filter criteria. Searches would need to be allowed on Groom, Bride and Date. How is this done?

Also, I noticed that the columns do not appear to be recognizing the spacing I put in the form. Is there some way to force this?

The extension doesn't a built-in functionality for creating custom filters for custom fields on frontend, but it supports ability to use request variables in "WHERE" clause of SQL query. Sample of usage can be found here. A HTML search form can be created outside the module and parameters from this form can be used in "SELECT" SQL query.

I got the impression from the product description that this type of function was included in the product. Is there an upgrade I can purchase that does include the ability to build and implement queries on the tables it builds?

Thanks

It is possible to use search by all columns for "ARI Data Table" widget. You can see it on demo site.
