Hi,

I am using ARI DataTables extensively and quite like the results. One issue that arises for me that causes me to make a suggestion for added feature. It is a minor issue but is easy to address.

The settings for the charts has a property gridlines count. This works great for many cases but when you have dynamic charts this often causes some strange chart axis. I try to avoid setting maximum and minimum scale values and find when I do the charting is quite good at automatically picking good scales. However, the gridlines count creates odd increments.

My suggestion is to also support a simple setting of the "scale or axis increment" instead of "gridlines count". With this setting one could force the scale gridlines to always increment at say 5 or 10, even when the min and max scales are determined automatically. To me, this would make even more powerful and more flexible charting.

With only a "gridlines count" setting it is difficult to achieve a scale increment when the axis is determined automatically. You often see increments of say 7, or 9, when 5 and 10 are what would be better.

Ideally a selector to pick setting axis scale by either "gridline count" or "scale increment", with corresponding settings for both options, depending on which is set for the given chart. In my case most charts would use the "scale increment", but yes some would still use "gridlines count".

Thanks.

Ken

Hello,

Currently Google chart API doesn't support the described ability.

Ok, thank you. Is there any way you can suggest to work around the acis scaling sometimes being strange? What if I do not specify a gridline count, how will the scale be determined?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Currently it is only possible to set gridlines count and min and max values. Google chart API doesn't support ability to set a gridline interval. We will investigate possibility how this feature can be implemented for a future version of the extension.
