I need to search and display records from MySQL database that has about 50,000 records. The total number of records is 50,000 but the search will fetch and display no more than 2,000 records. Can the Ari Data Tables plugin do this?

Currently large amout of records can cause problems because the module loads all data into client side.

In that case, is it possible to write an SQL query within ARI Data Tables (if it has some area where SQL query could be written) and create a small temporary table with searched records that can then become the input data table for ARI Data Tables?

The module provides text area where SELECT SQL query can be entered, but it doesn't provide ability to create temporary tables.

If the display grid on the user's screen loads and displays only the selected records than this would be a way to manage/limit the number of records that are loaded on user's system. However, this will be useful only if the module (Data Tables) accepts the search parameters from the user's screen. Or, in other words, the user should be allowed to define the search criteria.It will not make sense to hard code the search values (for example, city=Houston) in the SQL query.

Do you think it is possible?
