After using your extension for well over a year, it suddenly stopped working.
The Google document viewer loads, but an error is displayed: No example available (in Dutch).
When I checked in the Firefox console, on the statement:

Is it possible that we had too many views from this site? Is there a way to obtain and use the token that seems to be required suddenly?
We must stick with Google odcs, the PDFJS viewer is far too slow!

Indeed there are simmilarities to the case you provided the link for.
The Google server reaction is identical.
But our case is also vey different: we host the pdf documents on our own server, and no user can see them through the Google docs viewer!
Also, when i try a simple iframe embed, like
<iframe src="docs.google.com/gview?url=http://www.fietsclubdemol.nl/files/clubblad/Clubblad201604.pdf&embedded=true" ></iframe>
it does not work anymore.

Type directly in a browser:
docs.google.com/gview?url=http://www.fietsclubdemol.nl/files/clubblad/Clubblad201604.pdf
and it does not work; for another server it does!

Can our server be banned by Google, or do we need to buy a token?

Google Docs has a limit for requests to a document (usually some number of requests per hour), but more detailed information is not available.

We have ARI Smart Book extension which can convert PDF files to flip books. It doesn't depend on Google service. PDF files converted via GhostScript (which should be installed on hosting) or CloudConvert online service (use it only once for each document after this use files which are stored on your site).

It may be possible to do this.
On the other hand, converting all our pdf's to jpg's with your extension is a lot of work, creates a lot of files which are not searchable.
I know that for Google Maps once can crate a site specific api key, and some google map extensions allow to enter this key.
Would this not be possible foor Ari Docs Viewer?

As we know, it doesn't provide API keys for Docs viewer service.
