I just downloaded ARI ext menu, for Joomla! 1.5, and I am having trouble getting it to work. I could not find a download specific to 1.5, so I went with the one on the main page. When it did not change the way the menu presented, I started looking for a user manual.

Where is the user manual?

Extension's package is the same for Joomla! 1.5 and 1.6. The module works as standard Joomla! menu module. More information here.

I trimmed some printscreens, and then "painted" one to show what I am looking for. I am using rhuk_milkyway as my template, with a few color numbers changed (transparent is a color setting!), and a little editing on the pictures for the top bar. The actual structure is not changed.

I think I have the settings on the menu correct, and I have activated the ari ext menu in the module section... pictures should tell...

Do you want to change background of sub-menus? Could you provide link to page where we can see the menu?

I have found the issue! I thought that choosing "top menu" in the back end made it replace the back menu. I found the menu hiding at the bottom of my left column, under a long, main menu and a newsflash.

I used the module to move the menu from "left" ut "user 3" (top menu area) and disabled the top menu... now I have nested links that downdrop when mouseover-ed.

So now, yes, while I wasn't looking for color changing advice before, I am going exploring now to play with the colors, etc....
