i try to build the same mainmenue like this

additional with dropdown functionality.

1. How can i change or fill in the background image for ux-menu?
2. how and where change i border to 0px, the menue high and text color: white?
3. submenu should have a fixed width, because if the text are two words he makes an break.
4. It is possible to have different colours/background images in the top level menue?

i use the template rhuk_milkyway and j15

the problem number 2. with the hight etc.. i found in an other tread and solved like this :

admin joomla: mod_ariextmenu: Modulparameter Box: CSS Styles and fill in for example:

.ux-menu LI A
{
color: #ffffff;
line-height: 4px;
height: 4px;
border: 0px;
text-decoration: none;

}

.ux-menu .ux-menu-sub LI A
{
background: grey none;
line-height: 8px;
height: 8px;

}

i solved 1. by myself like this:

find the place for images: mod_ariextmenu/js/css/images/

upload your new background images and replace or rename them:
- menu-item-bg-current.png : aktiv menu
- menu-item-bg-over.png: hover effekt
- menu-item-bg.png: menu items background

problem number 3. : solution:

here must be the modulparameter Auto width set to YES
