Template override necessary for css styling? 13 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hello--

My question is pretty straightforward -- before I start going in and styling the menu-min.css for my Ari Ext Menu on my site, should I create a template override, or can I just start editing the css (and background image files) in the mod_ariextmenu/js/css directory of the module? If I edit the files directly inside the js/css folder, is there any risk that my custom css and image files will be overwritten at some future date unbeknownst to a client who might update the module? Or is this only a concern if I start tinkering with the php files?

Thanks!
JG

Hello,

menu.min.css is core module file and Joomla! overwrites it with file from installation package when upgrades the module. You can use module overriding method on site template level or add custom CSS rules to site template CSS file.
