ODBC access 13 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I'm trying to access some DB2 databases on an I5 (previously AS/400) system via ODBC (as nothing else seems to be available for this system) but without success. ODBC extensions are set in the PHP configuration files. Duno exactely how to manage that and would be sure my settings are ok, so here they are :

Host : I put the IP of my server
User and password : A user who has access to the DB on the server
DB Name : I assumed it is the ODBC name I configured localy on the server via the ODBC administration. Right ?

I checked the ODBC from another application and it works fine.

So is there something else I should take care of ?

Thanks

Hello,

Try to set "SQL -> Debug mode" parameter to "Yes" and check will report the module about error(s) or not.

With SQL debug on, I get this message : ARI Data Tables: Couldn't connect to external database.

I also tried with an ODBC connection to the local Mysql database and I get the same problem.

Duno if something is not correct in the PHP settings for ODBC, by the way I'm using WAMP.

I made a small simple PHP program accessing the required database with the same information I used with ARI data table and it works fine, so this means that ODBC seems to be working.

Could you send screenshot of "SQL" parameters section from module settings page and your test PHP script by email?

Ok, I finally got it working.

The ODBC Data source should be defined in the Host field but even if the DB Name field is not relevant I should put something into, so I just placed a blanc car and now everything seems to work fine.
