Thank you for your answer.
Here are the links and the errors that were given in IE8:

After clicking it away the website opens normally.

What can be causing it?

Check that "Load ExtJS library" parameter is set to "Yes". Regards, ARI Soft

Thank you ARI Soft, But where can I find that parameter? I really don't know. In which folder/directory is that ExtJS? I'm not aware that I have it anywhere.. Regards, Maarten

Open module settings page on Joomla! backend ("Extensions" -> "Module Manager" page) and set "Load ExtJS library" parameter to "Yes". Regards, ARI Soft

Wow, thank you ARI Soft! I had forgotten that that's a parameter in the mod_ariextmenu. Of the five instances of your menu module that I've used in the index.php, I had one with ExtJS turned off!!!! Now the error is gone! Thank you for your patience too. The module is very nice! Regards, Maarten
