It seems I must have a different version of joomla. I am using version 1.5. This screen shot doesn't look like mine, but it should be very similar.

What you need to do is go to Menus in your joomla interface, then select the menu you want to create the drop down sub menus(for instance I'm using the top menu) Then select a new menu in the top right hand side (green icon) Once there you can link articles and pages from your website. If you want to link an article you must choose Internal link, then select Articles and lastly Article layout (once inside you can select which article you want to display and where)

Hope this makes sense so far?

What I think you need to do is create an external link. Create a new menu, then select an External link. Once in here you must put the link to the page you want a sub menu for in the Link box which is the 3rd one down.

Sorry if this sounds a bit complicated, but its the only way I can explain it.

No. There's nothing like that in my menu manager in Joomla 1.6. This is also my problem with AriExtmenu. I've created Top Menu and Top Menu module in position 5 and placed AriextMenu Module on the same position. Then I assign ariextmenu module in all menu items in top menu. Nothing Happened! Then, I assign AriextMenu module in only my sub-menu items, nothing happened too. I've wasted hours too in researching how to fix this problem without finding out a clear solution. Please show some clear steps or explanation on how to use AriExtMenu module, if you could please provide pictures as well. Thank you.

To Naila site template supports predefined set of module positions. Assign the module to one of existing module position that site template can show it.

To frille if you provide link to page where you try to use the menu and temporary access to your J! backend by email we can investigate the problem.
