How do I override "Compatibility View" mode IE9? 12 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi, I'm working on this site: www.chbs.org

Dropdowns work great in Firefox, and generally in IE (I saw the z-index tips; that helped), but I found out in IE both 8 & 9, a user has to manually override the compatibility mode to allow the drop-down menu items to show up. Is there a way to do that with code? It went live and users are complaining that the menu doesn't work. I'm attaching the template. Help, please?

I am told that <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" /> in the head tag should disable the "compatibility view" in both IE 8 and 9. Is that correct? I had another one in the template for IE7 that I deleted now.

Can someone test it on IE9 and tell me if the dropdowns are working? Again: www.chbs.org

I was told ""When you add this little tag into your HTML, the compatibility mode option will be disabled for your web page. That means whatever they select will be ignored and it will NOT use compatibility mode."
