Hi - tried looking everywhere but i can't get the "current menu item" to show a different colour.

I have it set to yes in the module and have it at a different colour.

Hello,

Check that "Hightlight current menu item" parameter is set to "Yes".

Use "Main menu items styles -> Current background color" parameter to set background color of current menu item.
