How to set a delayed mouseout on submenu 13 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I have a vertical menu with vertical sub-menus. Currently hovering over a menu item in tier 1 opens up the second tier, which is fine, but when moving the mouse to the menu items in the second tier you have to move it directly over into the second tier before moving the mouse up or down. If your mouse hovers over any part of a menu item from the 1st tier while moving to the second it immediately closes the 2nd tier. How can I add a delay so that once the mouse is moved off of the menu item, the sub-menu stays up for 2-3 seconds before closing, regardless of if the mouse hovered over another menu item in that first tier.

I can set a general delay in the module settings, but that applies a delay to the beginning of the sub menu being displayed as well as the end, and it is nullified if the mouse hovers over another menu item.

Hello,

Where we can see the menu on your site? It can be a conflict with site template styles.

Unfortunately the site is a locally hosted internal only site. Everything about the menus work great, except that if your mouse crosses over another menu item in the first tier while moving to the sub-menu, it imediately closes the submenu. Is there a way to create a mouseout event that has a delay set to it? I don't see any mouseout events in the menu.js, if that's even the right file.

See "initEvents" method. It contains "hover" handler and "mouseover" handler.
