following up on a comment on JED by a user concerning my extension JosDewplayer,

I tested on my site which uses your extension (Thanks for it ) and I do confirm the issue when the custom module displaying the player is displayed on a page which is not a page opened by a root parent menu item (sub menu or sibling).

The player displays OK, but the mp3 is not run.

Could you upgrade "ARI Ext Menu" module to the latest version (v. 2.0.7 is used on your site, but the latest version is 2.0.15) and try to reproduce described problem?

I had already upgraded locally to 2.0.15 before posting.
Same issue.

Could you try to temporary disable Joomla! SEF?

There is the culprit indeed.

It seems player plugin can't solved path to files from play list correctly when Joomla! SEF is used. You can use another menu, but result will be the same because it is player issue.
