The module uses <joomla_directory>\modules\mod_ariextmenu\mod_ariextmenu\js\css\menu.min.css CSS file.

I had the same question as lanawylma and was delighted to find the answer here. Thanks very much.

Maybe useful feedback to you: when I opened the file with Notepad++ the commands were all in one huge string without line breaks. I broke them into lines where I could between '}' and '.ux-' and seem not to have damaged anything.

Notepad++ normally presents such a clear set of code, and as it's in wide use round the globe, I thought you might like to consider why that was and reformat your original .css file to prevent it.

Separate question, forgive the diversion. Is there code in the Ext Menu .css files which I can alter to change the maximum width of the menu, or is that only within the Joomla Sample Templates?

menu.min.css is a minified version of menu.css file which is located in the same folder. You can modify menu.css file and then rename it to menu.min.css. The module uses minified version for performance reason.
