Article links In modules 12 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hello

I have been trying to find an answer but failed.

Currently using Joomla 1.7 website: www.wellington-tianjin.cn/

On our home page is a Latest News Module, it is in the right position. In this module are links to articles of news pages. Problem i have is when you go to ones of these articles the menu does not show up.

I know Joomla has issues regarding links to articles which are not connected to menu items.

Question is, how do i get the menu to show on the pages? Is my only option to download one of the advanced modules, modules....

Thanks in advance

Hello

Sorry what i mean is, the latest news is a module for the right position. I have links which go to articles. Thes links are also in our news archive section else where on the site.

However if i follow the link in the Latest news section, the main menu disappears, however, if i go to the news archive and go to the same page following the link from there the menu doesn't disappear.

I read somewhere that this has something to do with the links being in a seperate module and not on a menu item.

Does this make sense to you?

We mean "Menu Assignment" parameters section on menu module settings page. This section is used by Joomla! to detect where the module should be shown. If you select to show the module only for specific menu items, it will not be shown when an article from "Latest news" module is loaded because they are not linked to menu items.

Thanks for quick response,

Is there any work around to this then, any modules u can suggest, i have tried installing advanced module manager but that is a pain to install and after it's installed i get internal server error 500 for the module manager page.

Thanks

Try to contact "Advanced modules" support so they help to fix the problem.
