What I want to do is only remove the borders on the left and right of the sub menu item. I want a white border on the top and bottom of sub menu item only.

I have implemented this project into my final site and now I have a new and unusual problem. The problem only exists on my homepage. What is seemingly the same code on all the other pages works perfectly. on my home page the menu displays text left, right and centered within the same menu. I want the text to be left aligned. IN the picture you can see a menu category for products and one of the sub menu items "IP Application Server" aligned properly. But "Phones", "IPEdge", "CIX" align right.

I apologize for the double post. I have resolved the text within a menu all aligning the same way, but I cannot figure to have the actual menu align under the menu name. In my attached screen shot you can see two pages. The one on the left which is my homepage, incorrectly displays the menu item to the left of the parent menu item, then on the right an aritcle page correctly displays then menu below the menu name. Any idea what I am doing wrong here?
