TOPIC: Size of the fancybox

Hi:

Is there a way to define the width and height of the fancybox modal popup to be based on percentage rather than pixels? Such as Frame Width = 85% rather than Frame Width = 800

This really can make a big difference on larger browser windows and with inline HTML or external web pages.

Also, when connecting to an external web page, can you define whether the scroll bar displays or not and when?

Also, what do the Auto Scale and Auto Dimensions do?

Thank you

Hello,

Regarding your questions, at first download the extension package in 'Member Area' on our site and upgrade 'ARI Fancybox' module, please. Updated version provides possibility to define sizes in percent. If you use 'ARI Fancybox' module and want to define size in percent for remote or inline content, set 'Auto Scale' parameter to 'Yes' and 'Auto dimensions' parameter to 'No'. You can define use scrollbars or not with help 'Scrolling' parameter. About 'Auto Scale' and 'Auto Dimensions' parameters, the first of them is used for fit lightbox size to viewport of a page if lightbox has size more than page size and size of lightbox is defined in pixels, the second is used if you want to resize the lightbox to content size.

Thank you for that response.

I have another question, related to inline use of images.

I am developing a web site with over 5000 images that need to be served via a fancybox link to flickr. I also want to use some flickr images inline as display elements for articles. The articles are quite long, and having them just be text makes it very boring for a use. How do I embed inline single images from the photos on flickr, and have them display as thumbnails which you can click on and that will open a single image fancybox? Also, please see the other problem I am having with the use of the plugin as detailed below.

I need to also show image galleries with different photosets at different locations.

I'm not sure if I am making a mistake, but it seems to me that using a module interface means that I would need to install multiple copies of the same module, each named according to the gallery. Please correct me if I am wrong here and advise me as to how I would use a single module multiple times, each time using a different photoset.

If using the plugin is the better solution, I am having the same problem here as regards the issue with inline images.

That problem is that when I use the {arifancybox activeType="flickr" source="photoset" photosetId="[photosets]"}{/arifancybox} code, the code displays inline. I am using JCE and switch from the WYSIWYG interface to the raw HTML interface, add the call to the plugin where I want, but when I save, JCE automatically inserts <p> and </p> around the code.

What am I doing wrong, and how do I fix it?

Hello,

If you want to display only the first image from Flickr photosets and if a user clicks by this show others, you can choose 'Single image' layout type in module settings. Copies of 'ARI Fancybox' module can be created if need to show different photosets in different location with different settings or if you need the same settings and only photoset ID will be different, 'System - ARI Fancybox Anywhere' plugin can be used. You can set default settings on plugin settings page and set necessary photoset ID in {arifancybox} plugin tag. Regarding problem with JCE editor, could you provide temporary access to your Joomla! backend by email and say link to page where we can see the issue that we can investigate it and provide solution?

Hi:

Thank you for your answer. So, as regards Ari Fancybox Anywhere, I would set all the parameters in the plugin itself, and then I would just change the photoset id in {arifancybox} plugin tag? Could I define what image will be displayed as the single image that when clicked calls the script and displays the fancybox? Can I define the size of the thumbnail used as a single image? Can you provide sample code?

I am developing the site off-line (server can't be accessed from outside) so I cannot give you access yet. I will do so as soon as I have the site uploaded to a live server.

Hello,

It doesn't require to define all parameters in {arifancybox} tag. If a parameter is omitted in {arifancybox} tag, the plugin will use default value for this parameter. You can define default parameters values on plugin settings page on Joomla! backend. Do you want to display thumbnail Flickr image from a Flickr photoset or you want to use a local image?
