The thumbnail can be either from the flickr photoset (if I can define height/width of the thumbnail, and which image I want as the thumbnail) or, if I cannot do that from flickr, I would create the necessary image and have it local to the site.

Can you provide me with sample code for the {arifancybox} tag?

Currently the extension can show only the first image from a photoset, but we can adjust the module that it provides new layout type, where you can indicate Flickr photo ID from selected photoset which you want to use as thumbnail image and if a user clicks by this image, the lightbox with images from selected photoset is appeared. Is this suitable for your needs?

We'll add two layout types. For specific Flickr image and for custom HTML. Custom HTML layout provides possibility to enter HTML code (it helps use a local image) or simple text and if a user clicks by this code, the lightbox is appeared. For specific Flickr image we can provide possibility to select image size from predefined set of images like for 'Thumbnail size' and 'Image size'. We'll update the extensions within 1 - 1.5 day.
