I really like the things from Ari-Soft that I use.

I am looking for a image slideshow that can display the first image and only the first image of a slideshow.
The reason is each preloaded image takes time to download, and this has an adverse impact on the overall speed of the site.

Hence I am wondering if ARI Image SlideShow loads the first image only (perhaps the second image aswell), and then loads the others via AJAX?

This would dramatically speed up any site using any kind of image sliders/rotators.

Perhaps add it as a feature request?

Hello,

"ARI Image SlideShow" loads images when change current slide. It doesn't load all images on page load (document ready).

Nice.

However, I am viewing the demo with the latest FireFox and I notice that even though the counter increases the images aren't changed.
This occurs after a short while. In the beginning of the slideshow it works as expected.
Also, quite often when I click the next button images stop changing after a few clicks.

Sorry, but we can't reproduce a problem with the next button. We checked it in FireFox v. 8.0.1.

I checked on some other computers and it works great there. Just on this computer it doesn't work...

Back to my original question.

When I check the source of my site I can see there are no preloaded images, which is great, but when I run a test on webpagetest.org I see that the images DO get requested.

What should I make of this?

Images are loaded one by one when a new slide is loaded into slider.
