Hello, while it is possible to use transparent PNGs in the Image Slider, the problem is that the previous slide is visible for the duration of the Pause time set in the Slider parameters. Is there a way for the previous image to be hidden during the pause time, so that the slides animate cleanly from one to the other? We would like the background image of our page (that the Image Slider is on) to show through, hence the use of transparent PNGs.

I found the following article about transparent PNGs with the Nivo Slider (which Image Slider is based on), but am not sure how this would work with your Image Slider. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello,

Download and upgrade the module. New version contains "Fix transparent background" parameter. Set this parameter to "Yes" to apply fix which is described in the article from your previous post.

The client has a legacy site with a lot of legacy plugins and modules which I am trying to maintain for a little while longer until they are ready to completely redesign & rebuild their website soon. Because of this and having experienced unexpected difficulties with attempting to update plugins/modules via the Joomla admin in the past, we are trying to keep the current setup going as much as possible.

To that end, is there any possibility of getting the transparent background fix with the current version Image Slider I have of 1.7.0? Otherwise, I would need to see if there is some way for me to manually apply the update by uploading replacement files via FTP or basically exclude transparent images from the slider. I completely understand if you cannot accommodate this request and I appreciate your time in replying to my queries.

Sorry, but 1.7.0 is very old version of the extension. The latest version is 2.1.7.
