License useable for localhost? 13 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

as I read that I can use ARI PrettyPhoto only for 1 domain I would like to know how it works if I develop/maintain the site on my Laptop with localhost and then move it to the server with the real domainadress. Do I always have to change the license and jump between localhost and server? I want to maintain the website on my Laptop and upload the changes to the server after I know my work was ok.

Thanks
Rudolf Aigner

Hello,

"ARI Pretty Photo" is under GNU GPL license, open source and can be used for any number of domains.

Hi,

that's fine but I read this in FAQ topic 4
Licenses work for one domain only. If you want to use the product on another domain you need additional purchase for that.

How should I understand this?
Thanks

This restriction only for our extensions which are not under GNU GPL license ("ARI Quiz", "ARI Smart Content" and "ARI Scroller").

License useable for localhost? 13 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
I would like to come back to this question, because I do have a ARI Smart Content which I would like to use on my localhost (notebook) for developing purposes. I also have one extra production license left, but just would like to know how exactly I can use this license on my localhost.

Let's say I have a test environment with xampp where I use several joomla installations on in the htdocs folder (e.g. "testwebsite1", "testwebsite2" etc.) Can I now simply enter "localhost" in the domain field of the license or do I have to specify the folder of the test website (i.e. the root folder of the relevant joomla installation on my test environment, i.e. "localhost/testwebsite1"?

Thanks for the clarification, kr, rene
