Hi All, I'm new to Ari Quiz and ive searched the forum for similar probs before posting. but sorry if im repeating Qs.
My quizzes have mainly have the same structure. 60 audio questions, split across 4 catagories: 20xA, 10xB, 20xC, 10xD. I am creating large question and catagory Banks A-D with the intention that the 60 question quiz pulls out the quesions in the same structure, but randomly for each catagory so the quiz keeps its structure but questions are never the exact same as last test)
Im populating the question bank and associating the questions with the correct catagory without issue.
Q: How do I set up a quiz that pulls the correct amount of Quesion A, B, C, D from the banks in a 'random' fashion whilst keeping the 20xA, 10xB, 20xC, 10xD structure?
Q. As each section is multiple choice it would make sense to use question templates to save time. I created one and it didnt seem to have the ability to input the question, only answers?. Also, when I went to question bank i couldnt see the option to create a new quesion via template - what am i missing please?
Many thanks for your help, Ben

Hello,
Use question categories inside a quiz to load questions from questions bank. Create a question category for a quiz and open "Question pool" tab on question category settings page. It is possible to select bank categories and how many questions should be loaded from each bank category on "Question pool" tab.
If you want to select questions in random order, set "Main settings -> Random questions" parameter to "Yes" in quiz settings.
Question templates are used to create templates for common answers like "Yes/No", "True/False" and etc. It doesn't provide ability to specify question in question template settings because questions usually are different, but answers can be repeated.
Currently it is possible to use question templates only for quiz questions. We will add ability to use questions templates in questions bank in a future release of the extension.

Hi, thanks thats really helpful. Can the randomisation be used and still keep the question quiz structure eg 20xA, 10xB. I need the order to be set, just the questions for each catagory section to be random from the relevant pool. Thanks, Ben

Currently it is not possible to save sequence of question categories. Questions will be selected and shown in random order.
"ARI Quiz" v. 3.5.0 which will be released soon will support ability to show all questions from each question category on separate pages.

Brill, any broad release date on that please? Also, if I carry on as I am when the new feature is available will it organise the quiz retrospectively or will I have to recreate?
Another Q - is it possible to change the layout of the multiple choice boxes to horizontal as opposed to vertical and also remove the 'choice 1' text? Thanks, Ben

It will be released within 1 - 1.5 week. It will not require to recreate quizzes again, it will contain a new parameter in quiz settings which you can change for necessary quizzes. One note, create new question category for each bank category because quiz works with question categories, not with bank categories.
If you want to change layout for "Multiple choice" question, it requires to modify a javascript file. "Choice" label can be changed in language settings. You can read how to change message or create a new translation here.
