We keep having problem with the time on our quizzes. Users keep reporting time is running short (5 or 10 minutes left and the quiz is finish before this time)

My questions is can we change the script so every time when the user click next the Time on the clock to synchronize with the time on the DB. In my opinion the time in the Browser is different (the time users see) than the time in the DB. So that's why they see 10 min but on the server is over. On my test when you click Next and you see the spinning icon (before you move to the next question) you loose 5-10 second (depend of user internet speed) but the clock you see is not showing you that.

So can we fix this? Or can you explain to me how exactly the clock is working?

Remaining quiz time is set when a quiz is started and then calculated on client side (until the page will be reloaded for some reason). It calculates as a current date minus quiz start date (quiz resume date if a quiz is resumed) and it will be the same on server and client side. This description for latest version of the extension.
