Hi, my old site J2.5 Ariquiz 3.5.2 has thousands of questions. I have the latest version of AriQ on my new J5 site. Is it easy enough to export the questions etc. Im guessing as a minimum I need to replicate categories in the new site before importing or will the import create the required fields?

ALSO: Related question (or perhaps even part of the answer):

I think I saw reference to copying all of the dB tables from one site to another, BUT this raises a few questions as I am a noob with moving dB entries:

1. As my old site is so old (J2.5) , will the dB entries be irrelevant/work on the new J5 site?

1. The dB entries on my old site starts with ecvpg_ariquiz....etc but my new site mxj30_ariquiz...etc - do I have to change anything before/when/if i import?

Any advice appreciated as I would like to avoid mistakes and make as much of the process as easy as possible.

Hello,

You can upgrade the component to the latest version one J! 2.5 site (we recommend to create a backup before upgading) and then copy DB tables with prefix #__ariquiz to J5 site (just change the table prefix to the correct one). After this install the extension on J! 5 site.

Hi, thanks...the old J2.5 site is still active while I develop the J5 site - if I upgrade the component in the J2.5 site will it effect the functionality? TIA

It should work, but create a backup before upgrade.
