I wanted to test the anywhere plugin on a local installation of Joomla before attempting to use it on a live site. So, I copied an example of the anywhere code I found here. I went into the HTML editor where I pasted the code. Then I saved the article. But when I went to view the page, all the HTML formatting from it was gone.

I went back into the article and into the HTML editor and sure enough, all the formatting was stripped out, not so much as a paragraph tag remained. So I copied and pasted the original code from the article back in, minus the Anywhere code (using the live site which had the identical page). However, when I went to save it, again, the HTML was stripped out.

Then I tried to remove the ARI Sexy Lightbox module. However, after selecting it and clicking Uninstall, then everything went blank, the web site and the admin interface. Nothing loaded. If I tried to view the page source, there was nothing in it. Attempts to repair the installation have failed and I had to start from scratch with a new instance of Joomla (though the database still retains the original content).

I've been able to successfully use the inline and module features with no problems. But I have no idea what caused the problem with the Anywhere plugin and have been leery of attempting to use it since. It's the not knowing part that worries me. If I knew what I did with the Anywhere code that caused the whole thing to blow up then I'd know what not to do in the future.

Has anyone run into a situation like this before?
