I was hoping to use the lightbox for showing images - when clicking a link. - Not a thumb.

I put the images to be shown in the lightbox, in a div which I have hidden with display: none

Both link and images are inserted via a regular html module.

I have bought, and installed Sexylightbox - and installed sexylightbox anywhere plugin.
Both are activated.

how do I make this work?

Install, configure and enable "System - ARI Sexy Lightbox" plugin.

If it doesn't help could you provide a temporary access to your Joomla! backend by email so we can investigate the problem?

"System - ARI Sexy Lightbox" plugin was not installed on your site (We installed it). Use rel="sexylightbox[gallery1]" attribute for <A> tags instead of rel="sexylightbox" attribute to use images in one group.

Wow. That is weird!
When you asked me to install System ARI Lightbox, I thought I did that?!

Also - the address that you had access to is a copy of the site, from my local installation.
So when I wanted to do the same thing, locally - I checked and found System ARI Lightbox installed and activated. - But the lightbox did not work... odd?!!

I have made a copy of the site that you had access to, and installed it locally, so now it works.

However, I am a little uncomfortable not knowing what went wrong for me. It is bound to happen again, then...

I must be looking in the wrong place?! (but why do I find the correct name, then?)

Try to check javascript error console on your local site. Probably it contains error(s) which help to find the reason of the problem.
