I was told that I could create a book and select "PDF file" in "Pages are created from" drop-down and then specify a path to a PDF file on "Pages source" tab from book settings page. I selected PDF from the choices, uploaded the PDF to the directory and specified the path to the PDF file (with and without the leading /), but when I go to the book, I get the following error.

Joomla\CMS\Filesystem\Folder::create: Path not in open_basedir paths.
'Handbook' publication doesn't contain pages.

Is there a directory that I need to add to the php.conf file for open_basedir or something that I need to change to get the program to work?

If I import each book individually, I can link to the images, but I have several hundred books to add and if that is the only option, then this software will not work for the website.
