Tried to install Data Tables (localhost/joomla 1.5) and all I get is a blank white screen, no messages. I have installed many other Joomla extensions without problems, can anyone suggest what's going on? I have also tried to Install from Directory with the same result.

Check web server error log please. Install PHP Settings plugin that increase "memory_limit" and "max_execution_time PHP variables and try to install the module again.

Thanks for your quick response.

I increased timeout and max memory quite a lot and I can now see the error(s) from the installation script. The MySQL create table commands are failing on the setting:
ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;
because I am using an old version of MySQL (4.0.14).

I need to stay with this version of MySQL for a while longer so can I simply edit all the mysql commands, or do you have another version of your product that I can use?

It is possible to upgrade your MySQL to v. 4.1.0+? BTW, MySQL versions before MySQL 5.0 are no longer supported by MySQL developers.

If you can't upgrade MySQL on your server, we can provide refund or offer ARI Data Tables extension.

I do not want to upgrade at this point as I have a large back-office system which will have to be converted. So I would like to have the ARI Data Tables extension provided it will let me:

1. define db queries and display the results in a grid format with sortable columns and pagination.

2. add column to the table to display a hyperlink, using the id field from the query as a url parameter.
