I'm quite a novice to Joomla
However, I have managed to installed modules and custom templates via the Extension Manager and Uploading a Package File.

I have tried to install the ARI Smart Content package using the same method of uploading the zip file and hitting the INSTALL Button, but I get the following message - "There was an error uploading this file to the server."

Can anyone advise me please?

It is seems size of com_arismartcontent.zip archive is greater than value of "upload_max_filesize" PHP parameter. In this case you can install the extension from a directory, for this upload the archive to your server and unzip it to a folder (usually hosting panel provides a file manager or you can do it via FTP). After this enter path to the folder with the extension in "Install from Directory -> Install directory" parameter on Joomla! installation page.

If you hosting panel provide a file manager, upload and extract archive using file manager.

PS: We can help to install the extension if you provide a temporary access to your J! backend by email.

Hi - I unzipped and FTP'd to 'tmp' folder, then tried to install from directory. I got the following message "Please enter a package directory"
