I want to move the arisoft scripts to an s3 bucket to improve load times (at present my source code is showing about 20 scripts added to the original joomal stuff)

But looking at the index.php in template and system I cannot see where there are inserted into the page.

What do I need to change to point joomla at arisoft scripts in a different directory ( an s3: reference)

Any help appreciated.

Each plugin from "ARI Smart Content" load necessary javascript and CSS files only if this plugin is used on loaded page. The component doesn't load all plugins files on all pages.

so how do I change the location to be an s3 cloud, and not from my web server - if I have to I am willing to move the whole arisoft plugin directory onto the cloud.

Could you explain your needs? Do you want to store javascript and CSS styles on external server or combine all included files into one file?

At the moment I am running my normal site from adrian-black.com, but moving as many files as I can to the amazon cloud for faster load times.

What I would like to do is store all of the css and js files required by arisoft on the cloud and have them injected as my normal joomla runs.

Eventually I would have liked to combine everything into one file - but as you said that these files are injected as they are used this seems not to be viable.

Thanks for explanation, the second question, do you use an extension for loading files from Amazon S3 service? "ARI Smart Content" plugins include javascript and CSS files through standard Joomla! API and if you use any extension which can handle this files including, potentially you can load necessary files from S3, but it requires additional investigation that we can give an exact answer.
