Hello, It is not possible. Joomla! doesn't provide any standards to define tabs styles and layout. Default theme for "ARI Smart Content - Tabs" plugin can be selected in "Theme" drop-down in plugin settings. Regards, ARI Soft

On the web site it states that it is possible to create a new theme! how See on: smart.ari-soft.com/joomla-tabs.html The extension supports jQuery UI themes. It is possible to select from over 20 pre-installed themes or create new themes. Use "Choose a theme" drop-down above the tabs to select an active theme.
