I am able to reference Images from an external source in the 'Add explanation to the question' field using 'View as HTML' functionality but I do not see the same possibility in the question/answer field.

Is there any way to insert an image in the question and answer from an external source like imgbb. com. Possibly, you can add 'View as HTML' functionality to insert img src attribute or can give a button to reference an external image.

Having external image functionality can help us to save server space.

You can use External Media Without Import or similar plugin to add external images via media manager.
