I have finally got the menu to work - yeah! No I would like to customize the background. I see a "Sprite" image that contains many graphics. When I change a piece of that sprite, my background has noticeable lines - it does not look continuous.

What am I missing?

Hello,

It can be a problem with background image or/and styles. More information about menu styles can be found here, HTML layout and styles on a page can be investigated with help FireBug extension for FireFox browser.

Thanks. after much playing around with the sprite.png, I finally was able to change the background without lines.

The problem was I thought the css was getting more of the sprite section than it was. I overlayed the background I wanted on the section of the sprite that I thought controlled in, and kept moving, expanding etc. until it looked OK. (Used Adobe Fireworks)

I have never seen an image, where only a section was being called for.

Hope this helps others that might be trying to customize this.
