submenu class? 13 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,
I'm new to Joomla & YUI.

I would like to style the submenu differently than the top level. What suffix do I use to style the submenu items (i.e., background, etc.)?

I saw that you referred someone to Yahoo Developer Network page "YUI2: Menu", but I couldn't find/understand the answer.

Many thanks,
Liz

Hello,

Container element for horizontal menu has CSS class "yuimenu".

PS: You can install FireBug extension for FireFox browser that investigate menu HTML layout and styles.

Thank you for the reply.

When I experimented with that, it seemed like "yuimenu" affected both top-level menu items and the submenu items. Is that right?

If so, is there a way to style submenu items separately?

Thanks,
Liz

It can be affected for top and sub-menu if you use vertical menu. In this case the following CSS rule can be used:

.yuimenu .yuimenu

Thank you for that! And for the Firebug tip. It looks really helpful.
Best,

Fantastic! Now I can remove my hack, whereby I increased the opacity of the shadow to be an opaque "background".
