Re:positioning sub-menu 14 Years ago Karma: 760
Menu position doesn't require to change PHP code. This problem with site template, you can investigate HTML layout and CSS styles of menu and site template with help FireBug extension for FireFox. Regarding problem with the first menu item, check menu item type of this item. It seems this item has 'Separator' item type.

Re:positioning sub-menu 14 Years ago Karma: 0
1. when i use FireBug i can clearly see that the positioning for the sub-menu comes from "element.style" and not from any CSS code. FireBug shows the name of CSS file and line number of the origintaing CSS code. here i cannot see any CSS file name or line number so i assume its not CSS and particularly not the template's CSS.
someone mentioned on above comments that the fact that the containing DIV (div#menu1) has "position:absolute;" attribute prevents me from positioning the sub-menu. if i change the positioning for Div#menu1 what other CSS attribute should i edit in order to position the menu?

2. about that 1st menu item, it seems to be a joomla problem. taking care of it.

thanks

FireBug shows inline styles as "element.style". These styles are set in HTML tag with help "style" attribute or with help javascript. In your case, these styles are set by javascript. We have provided link to "YUI Menu" javascript widget which is used by "ARI YUI Menu", if necessary, you can modify code of this widget for your needs.

i have checked the the only .js file i could find in my "mod_ariyuimenu" folder and it is completely different then what goes on in the Yahoo information link you supplied.

perhasp i am not explaining myself well enough, and i appologize for pressing this issue. i have attached an image to this post which describes the way the menu appears on the site at the moment (on the left) and the way i want it to be. it seems to me like a simple aligning issue. perhasp you can take a look.

thank you so much for all your help.
