Another option which we can implement is select MailChimp groups for the selected on "MailChimp" tab from CF7 form edit page. In this case users will be subscribed to the selected groups and can't select change the selection on frontend. It will look something like this:

That would be good. The groups I have also have sub-groups (see screenshot attached) - could you do it for those too?

It seems you mean group categories, in your case "Website Form Submissions" is a group category which contains some groups. The plugin will support it. We will add ability to subscribe to the preselected groups to the next major release (1.4.0). Support it will be available till the next Wednesday.

"Contact Form 7 Connector PRO" v. 1.4.0 is ready. It supports integration with MailChimp groups (interests).
